Goal and objectives of the project

The objectives of this project are to estimate pesticide residue content on leafy vegetables using a handheld spectrometer; to design and fabricate a portable spectrometer.

Main results

Theoretical results: Methodology for estimation of pesticide residues on leafy vegetables was developed using optical spectral reflectance data.
Applied results: A prototype of portable optical device was designed, fabricated, and simulated from our developed methodology.

This device is a simple device. It possible to upgrade, develop and apply in the fact with benefits of small size, simple, useful, easy use. However, it should be developed for future work in phase II.
