Goal and objectives of the project

- Having a collection of 90% of the total rocks, minerals in the sea and the islands in the North of Vietnam for display and research to meet the standards of the Vietnam National Museum of Nature.
- Increasing research capacity and understanding the nature of the community.

Main results

Specimen and sample collections: The project has collected 68/85 samples with a total of 936 specimens. The magma rock collected 7 samples (105 specimens), the sedimentary and metamorphic rocks were 23 samples (345 specimens), the sediments and cave rock were 5 samples  (65 specimens), the marine and coastal sediments were 15 samples (201 specimens), there were 4 mineral samples (20 specimens) and  there were 14 minerals samples (200 specimens).
Applied results: 68 samples collected can showing at the Vietnam National Museum of Nature, samples were identified through analysis results, a collection contributes to providing scientific information about geological features in the marine and the island in the North of Vietnam.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Scientific results of 68 samples collected from the coastal area of the Mong Cai to Hai Van contribute to understanding the features  geology,  and the geological environment in the sea, the islands and coastal areas of the Northern Vietnam.

Recommendations

On the basis of collecting 68 samples in the period 2015 - 2020, 17 remain samples have not been found in the sea areas, it will be difficult to find after 2020, if after 2020,  recommend to the project leaders allow to change the samples to suit the situation.
