Goal and objectives of the project

- Isolation and selection of produced plant hormones cyanobateria strains and removing nitrogen, phosphorus in livestock wastewater after the biogas technology. Specifically:
+ Examine the potential of selected cyano-baterias to remove nitrogen and phosphorus from livestock effluent.
+ Initially evaluate the ability to stimulate the growth of selected cyanobacteria strain through the impact of IAA on plants (on plant cell tissue culture).

Main results

Theoretical results:
- Ten cyanobacteria strains have been isolated from genera such as Anabaena, Geitlerinema, Nostoc and Planktothricoides. Planktothricoides raciborskii 1PL is able to synthesize extracellular IAA without the addition of L-Tryptophan precursor with an IAA content of 3.04 0.05 µg/mL. This cyanobacterial strain has the ability to biosynthesize intracellular phytohormone with 4 identified auxins including indole-3-carboxylic acid (ICA), indole-3 acetic acid (IAA), indole-3 butyric acid (IBA) and indole propionic acid (IPA). The maximum concentration of IAA was found to be 5.51 g/g fresh weight.
- The culture conditions for the strain P. raciborskii 1PL have been identified. The growth of P. raciborskii 1PL strain was optimal in environmental conditions such as BG11, pH7, light from 2500- 4000 lux, temperature rangred from 25-30°C and aeration condition 12/24h.
- The extract from the biomass of P. raciborskii 1PL strain containing IAA increased the germination (96%) and root length (3,39 cm) in red beans and germination (82%) and root lengths of 2.35 centimetres in rice.
- The P. raciborskii 1PL strain treated with livestock wastewater after biogas technology during 14 days not only grew well but achiveved high removal efficiencies (> 80%) in high chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN) and  total phosphorus (TP). The biomass of P. raciborskii strain 1PL grown in livestock wastewater showed four different forms of auxins: IAA, IBA, ICA, and IPA, with concentrations of 5,49 μg/g FW; 4,05 μg/g FW; 0,74 μg/g FW và 0,27 μg/g, respectively.
Applied results:
- Application of algae biomass for fertilizer production and biological growth stimulants.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Isolation of cyanobacteria trains producing phytohormone that are both extenal and intracellular, which can be used as fertilizer in agriculture
