Investigate the composition of higher vascular plants to conserve species in Bat Xat Nature Reserve, Lao Cai province..

- Theoretical results:
+ The study identified the flora in Bat Xat Nature Reserve with a total of 1247 species and subspecies belonging to 646 genera and 174 plant families of 6 vascular plants. In terms of rarity, there are all 125 species. About plant species Vietnam endemic has 93 species. The distribution map of endemic and rare plant species in the study area.
+ The project discovered and reported 15 species and 01 newly recorded genus for the flora of Vietnam.
- Applied results:
+ The project has made statistics on the use value of 1247 species recorded in Bat Xat Nature Reserve, the number of species used as medicine is 414. Other values account for a lower proportion such as: species for edible products there are 119, Woody plants: 124, ornamental: 77 species.
+ The project has assessed the situation of exploitation, use and direct and indirect impacts on forests and biodiversity. Propose 6 groups of measures to conserve and sustainably use rare and precious vascular plants in Bat Xat Nature Reserve.

- Enrichment of HN Herbarium: Collection of 371 accessions was made, each number includes 06 specimens of vascular plant in Bat Xat Nature Reserve. All specimens were accessioned in HN herbarium.
-    Preparation of reports on plant conservative solution/action plan in Bat Xat Nature Reserve. Preparation of 01 maps of conservation importance depicting distribution of endangered precious, and rare plant species, priority areas for conservation in Bat Xat Nature Reserve.
- Human Resource Development through training: Supported and trained 01 graduate student, who successfully defended his thesis.

Continuatio of the investigation in the priority areas to study different populations/habitats of the threatened species and formulate strategies for conservation of rare and highly economic plants. Investigation of specific taxon groups, especially those distributed in niche habitats likes rugged terrains and mountainous areas.
