Specific objectives: collected specimens of about 1,000 higher plants and 250 macrofungi for research and of 250 higher plants and 100 macrofungi for exhibition from the Southern Central Vietnam and Southern Vietnam.

Main results

-    Specimen and sample collections:
During 2015 – 2020, the project was provided with VND 3,600 million and field trips were conduted in seven provinces and cities (Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, Phú Yên, Ninh Thuận, Đồng Nai, Hồ Chí Minh, Tây Ninh và Bình Phước). The achievements are as follows:

Macrofungal collection: 3,480 specimens of 174 species for research. No specimens for exhibiton were gathered.
All species were collected with tissue dried and kept in silica gel, taken with high quality photos, identifed and digitized with accompanied information on specimens.

-    Applied results:
The project is scientifcally and practically meaningful, contributing to the collection of natural specimens at the Vietnam National Museum of Nature. The collected specimens can be used for scientific research, education – training and biodiversity conservation.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

There is a number of collected species which are tentatively new to the national flora and science. They have not been named completely (i.e. dedicated as “sp.” in their specific name in the database) and should be the subject for further taxonomic work.
