Goal and objectives of the project

- Obtain a specimens collection of about 20% of the total number of species of highly valuable and characteristic biological resources in the South Central Coast and Southern regions for exhibition and scientific research according to the standards of the Vietnam National Museum of Nature.
- Improve the institute's research capacity and understanding of nature of the community.

Main results

Specimen and sample collections: 300 specimens for exhibition and 1200 specimens for scientific research of 100 species of plant resources; 35 specimens for exhibition and 140 specimens for scientific research of 35 species of amphibians and reptiles; 91 specimens for exhibition and 308 specimens for scientific research of 35 species of fish.
Applied results: For training, scientific research and exhibition.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

A specimens collection together with their database of some of the most valuable resource species belonging to the flora, amphibians and reptiles, and fishs was conducted for the first time from the South Central Coast and Southern Vietnam. This is an important basis to contribute to conservation, scientific research, training and applied research orientation.

- Collected samples/specimens for scientific research in comparison with the plan approved in 2020: 1648 specimens
