Goal and objectives of the project

Making a new urea fertilizer that can impove the efficiency of fertilize use and boost the crop growth.

Main results

Theoretical results:
+ A 10% oligochitosan solution was manufactured without drying process to optimize the production cost.
+ A oligochitosan-based film containing amino acid chelates was carried out successfully.
Applied results:
+ Such film was coated Ure and NPK fertilizer to produce new oligochitosan/aminochelates- related fertilizers.
+ Evaluating the efficacy of fertilizers was conducted on vegetable and industrial crops.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Aminochelates are amino acid-based chelate fertilizers of single or several micronutrients. In recent studies, it has been shown that the use of the chelates improved significantly in plant growth parameters such as leaf area, biomass production, fruit yield and quality. Conversely, traditonal fertilizers often apply inorganic salts which can reduce the activity of microrganisms and fertility in soil.

On the other hand, the aminochelates are coated Ure and NPK through the chitosan-based film, which provides protein nitrogen or nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and micronutrients supplementation. This helps the plants to absorb easily. In addition, oligochitosan presents anti-fungal and anti-microbial activity as well as creating the natural environment to support plants’growth. All of these create a “ smart fertilizer” that proliferates the properties such as the soil fertility, the growth of microrganisms and adds nitrogen and micronutrients, leading to reducing  fertilizer use without hitting the crop yield.


Currently, there is rarely oligochitosan/ amiochalate-related product coating urea/ NPK fertilizer, thus it brings major benefits to introduce  the fertilizes in the market.
