Goal and objectives of the project

Study the isolation, structural elucidation and biological evaluation of  compounds  from the seeds of Litchi chinensis Sonn. and Dimocarpus longan Lour in the collaboration with Belarusian partner.

Main results

-  From Dimocarpus longan seeds, nine compounds were isolated and identified as  (2S, 3R)-4E-dehydrochebulic acid trimethyl ester (DLE1), methyl galate (DLE2), gallic acid (DLE3), methyl previfolin carboxylate  (DLE4), ellagic acid (DLE5), (-)-epicatechin (DLE6), isoquercitrin (DLE7), citrulloside (DLE8) and daucosterol (DLE9).
- From Litchi chinensis seeds, five compounds were isolated and dentified as 3-oxotirucalla-7,24-dien-21-oic acid (LCE1), citrulloside (LCE2), protocatechuic acid (LCE3), proanthocyanidin A2 (LCE5) và  (-)-epicatechin (LCE6).
- Some biological activities of the extracts from D. longan and L. chinenis seeds were evaluated. The ethyl acetate residue (DLE) of longan seeds had the broadest spectrum of activity, which showed  the antimicrobial, antioxidant and fibrinolytic activities, together with tyrosinase enzyme inhibition.
- Four compounds from D. longan and L. chinenis seeds have been evulated the fibrinolytic activity. Compounds DLE4, LCE3 and DLE1 showed the fibrinolytic activity on the fibrin dishes with 83,00±1,39 IU/mg, 65,00±1,24 IU/mg and 39,10 ±0,66 IU/mg, respectively.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Compounds citrulloside (LCE2, DLE8) and (2S, 3R)-4E-dehydrochebulic acid trimethyl ester (DLE1) have been isolated from Dimocarpus longan and Litchi chinensis for the first time.
The extracts and isolated conpounds from the seeds of Dimocarpus longan and Litchi chinensis were evaluated the fibrinolytic activity for the first time.
