- Complete 90% (approx.) of the Collection sample quantity, including rocks, minerals and mineral resourses samples from the sea and islands of the Southern Vietnam (from Da Nang city southward) for exhibit and research purposes, following required standards by the Vietnam National Museum of Nature.
- Strengthening research capacity of the Institutions and physical knowledge of the community.

- Specimen and sample collection: the DATP.26 Project has completely obtained the sample workload (category, quantity, weight) at registered quality following proposed schedule and yearly budget estimation for the 2016-2020 phase.
In summary, the total number of collected sample is 38, including 534 specimens. Detailed information as follows: 4 magmatic rocks (60 specimens), 7 sedimentary rocks (81 specimens), 16 unconsolidated sediments (228 specimens), 6 minerals (90 specimens), and 5 mineral resourses (75 specimens).
- Applied results: the collected samples are the foundation to establish the Geological Sample Collection of the sea and islands of Southern Vietnam, which belongs to the National Nature Sample Collection of Vietnam.
- The analysis and examination of the collected samples from the side project DATP.26 could provide a valuable database for further publication.

- Established the categorized listing of rock, mineral and mineral resource samples of the sea and islands of Southern Vietnam for the first time. The samples represent the diversity in petrology, geological stratigraphy and structure, regional and local geoscape. The sample collection fully discribes the unique value, together with scientific, economic and position values;
- The samples were collected at mass scale, which were identical for the sea and islands geological settings in the Southern Vietnam, and played a significant role as other projects in contribution to the National Nature Sample Collection of Vietnam;
- The implement of the Project improved the overall understanding and recognition of the participated members, also reinforced the standard, skill and practice experience in establish exhibit museum sample collection.

- Collected samples/specimens for exhibition in comparison with the plan approved in 2020: 38 samples/114 specimens. Of which, there are 4 magmatic rocks (12 exhibited specimens), 7 sedimentary rocks (21 exhibited specimens), 16 unconsolidated sediments (48 exhibited specimens), 6 minerals (18 exhibited specimens), 5 mineral resourses (15 exhibited specimens).
- Collected samples/specimens for scientific research in comparison with the plan approved in 2020: 38 samples/420 specimens. Of which, there are 4 magmatic rocks  (48 research specimens), 7 sedimentary rocks (60 research specimens), 16 unconsolidated sediments (180 research specimens), 6 minerals (72 research specimens), 5 mineral resourses (60 research specimens).

+ Project DATP.26 had collected a large number of sample which surpassed the registered number in the signed proposal and contract. Total number of surpassed samples was 210 specimens of 16 samples as the following: 2 magmatic rock (20 specimens), 2 sediment rock (20 specimens), 9 unconsolidated sediment (135 specimens), and 3 mineral resource samples (25 specimens)

Vietnam National Museum of Nature

- The collected samples in the 2016-2020 Phase is 38, accounts for nearly 50% of the approval sample list. The other issues such as analysis process, identification, documentation and establish exhibition scenarios… have not been implemented yet. Therefore, I kindly suggest the Side Project will be continued to deploy to the next Phase in order to complete and fulfill the approval sample list, and meet the final projected scope;
- There is an urge to approve the schedule and budget for the collective work of remaining sample and emerging valuable sample in order to complete the National Nature Sample Collection of Vietnam and exhibit at the Vietnam National Museum of Nature.
