Goal and objectives of the project

General Objectives:
•    To maintain, develop and strengthen the cooperative relationship between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Hungarian Academy of Science.
• To better utilize the advantageous conditions and potentials of each institute in scientific research through collaboration, thus improving the research capability of key personnel to meet the needs required for future developments of each institute.
•  To continue the collaboration between two institutes focusing on the field of environment and food safety, especially researches on plant-growth regulators and their effects which were previously investigated in the first phase of this collaboration work.
Specific Objectives: Investigate the effects of plant-growth regulators on the growth and development of various widely-consumed vegetables in Vietnam and Hungary, and the accumulation of plant-growth regulators in such vegetables.

- Publications: 04 research articles already published, including 01 on SCIE indexed international journals, 01 on other international journals, and 02 on reputable national journals (Vietnam Journal of Chemistry)
- Education and training: 01 Bachelor student, and 01 Ph.D. student (both graduated)

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

This research has evaluated the roles of plant-growth regulator GA3 on the growth and development of various widely-consumed vegetables, the effects of GA3 usage on the content of various micronutrients in these vegetables, and the accumulation of GA3 in these vegetables.
The results from this research would help to determine the optimum intensivity of  GA3 treatment on vegetables, so as to ensure the best interests for both farmers and consumers of these vegetables. Such results have also proven the needs for development of educational programs and government policy regarding the use of plant-growth regulators in vegetable cultivation.
