Goal and objectives of the project

The main objective of the mission:
- Clearly defining the representativeness in biodiversity of insect groups typical for protected areas in Belarus and in the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam;
- Point out the role of these Protected Areas in the protection of endemic insects in the North of Vietnam;
- Determine the effectiveness of conservation of rare and of conservation significance in protected areas in Belarus and North Vietnam through investigating the species composition diversity of Insects as well as their presence. area of rare and precious insects in the Reserve;
- Compare biodiversity conservation strategies that have been applied in Belarus and Vietnam.

Main results

- Results of the research institute have provided data on component diversity of duplicated research groups.
- Additional themes for specimen collections for both Belarus and Vietnam.
-The topic compares the effectiveness of protected areas between Vietnam and Belarus in the conservation of rare insects.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- An assessment of the effectiveness of the conservation of rare and protected species in the Protected Areas of Belarus and North Vietnam has been carried out. The current status of protected area networks in the Republic of Belarus and Vietnam has been analyzed. For further study, endemic animals living in the territory of Vietnam and rare species protected in the Red Book of both countries have been selected. An analysis of their distribution and the status of their populations in the protected areas of the two countries was carried out.
- Research on the abundance, density and distribution of rare, ecologically significant and protected species in some of Belarusian reserves, where they have the highest species diversity. 60 species of the family Lathridiidae and 34 species of the family Cerambycidae, the set of Coleoptera Hardles have been identified in Belarus.
