Goal and objectives of the project

- Understand the mechanism and influence of light on the growth and development of sprouts (soybean sprout, turnip and sunflower).
- Determine the characteristics of light suitable for the development of sprouts.
- Increase the quality and yield of sprouts (the quality is expected to increase by 10%, output by 10%). Evaluate the quality of sprouts based on the content of at least 3 parameters in parameters such as Vitamin C, E, glucose and some specific substances of each sprouts such as Isoflavon, genistein in soybean germ, Carotene, Chlorophyll, Glucosinonates in Radish Sprouts, Dicaffeoyl Quinic Acid (DCQA) in Sunflower Sprouts ...)

Main results

Theoretical results:
- The thesis has studied the characteristics and properties of light in an overview, thereby seeing the role of light to the development and growth of sprouts.
- The project has fabricated the light source system with wavelengths in the regions 430-460 nm, 630-720 nm with total luminous flux of 3.000 lm.
Applied results:
- The project conducted experiments to grow cruciferous, soybean and sunflower sprouts with varying conditions of temperature, humidity, and light source for both pervasive and non-pervasive cases. The results show that the method of the topic has helped increase the yield and quality of sprouts compared to the traditional method by over 10%, and ensures food safety and hygiene for sprouts.
- The project has surveyed and selected the most suitable blue/red light ratio for cruciferous vegetables, soybeans and sunflower, which is 30/70.
- The thesis has experimentally studied the effects of many factors on the content of red and white cabbage such as temperature, humidity, and light. With the optimum temperature and humidity conditions, we investigated the Carotene content of red and white cabbage sprouts, Soy Isoflavones and Glucosse in Sunflower sprouts under different light conditions. Experiments show that to have Carotene, Isoflavon and Glucose content, it is best to use blue and red light at a ratio of 30/70 and a photon flux of 30 mol /

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Experimented and found the optimal parameters of light to the growth of sprouts.
- Finished the method of growing sprouts without using a substrate
