Goal and objectives of the project

Synthetic assessment of environmental hazards in the North Central coastal area such as water pollution, red tide, erosion, sedimentation and the risk of water degradation by applying remote sensing technology and numerical model.

Main results

- Theoretical results:

  • Study on the current state of water pollution, the risk of environmental pollution caused by discharge from industrial zones in the North Central coastal area
  • Research on red tide, erosion and sedimentation in the North Central coastal area
  • Research and develop a process of applying high-resolution and medium-resolution, multi-time remote sensing data in the study of environmental hazards in coastal areas, building a website to share data

- Applied results: The results of the project help to quickly assess the water environment, the types of environmental hazards and incidents in the coastal zone through the use of remote sensing data combined numerical models. To Help management agencies to reduce costs, save time compared to other traditional methods

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

The result of project will open a new application direction of remote sensing data in water environmental  monitoring, assessment of environmental hazards in coastal areas, with the development of algorithms and treatment methods. Remote sensing data combined with numerical modeling for water quality assessment and types of environmental hazards in the North Central coastal area will have a very positive thought in the application of remote sensing data by sectors and location to exploit and protect marine environment and resources
