Goal and objectives of the project

- Completing the technological process of preserving Luc Ngan litchi with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) film.
- Applying modified atmosphere packaging  (MAP) film to preserve and export 50 tons of Luc Ngan litchi.
- Transferring this technology to bussinesses.

 

Main results

- Theoretical results:
+ 200 kilograms of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) bags for perserving Luc Ngan litchi fruit. (Specifications: thickness: 30-35µm;  Tensile strength: > 18Mpa;  Elongation at break: > 200%; meeting food safety and hygiene standards arcording to QCVN 2011:1/BYT).
+ 50 tons of Luc Ngan litchi fruits was preserved by using MAP bags. After storage and transportation time (4 weeks), litchi fruits still meet the branch standard 10TCN 204:1994 for exported fresh litchi.

+ The transfer dossier of litchi preservation technology for 2 enterprises
    + 01 complete technological process for manufacturing modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) film used for litchi fruit
    - Applied results:
    + Cooperated with Hong Giang Production and Trade Cooperative in deploying MAP technology application to preserve 50 tons of Luc Ngan litchi for export in 3 batches, estimated net profit is 13,039,340 VND / ton.

 

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Completed technological process for manufacturing modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) film used for litchi fruit and technological process for applying MAP technology in exporting Luc Ngan litchi fruit on scale of 50 tons. After treating and preserving, the quality assurance of Luc Ngan litchi fruit is still maintained, and meet the standard for exporting to demanding markets such as USA, Europe (Poland, Netherlands...), Laos, Cambodia... MAP technology meets export demand as well as domestic demand. Furthermore, this technology can bring high economic efficiency for the litchi growing areas in Vietnam, especially in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang.
