| Goal and objectives of the project | - Study on chemical compositions of Passiflora edulis seed oils and process of vegetable oils from the seeds of Passiflora edulis. |
| Main results | Theoretical results + The oil content of the seeds was 24,88 % (w/w) and mainly consisted of linoleic acid (-6, 66,94 %), oleic acid (-9, 18,86 %), sterols (2935,35 mg/kg), triglycerides (monomer TAG, 74,11 %), and tocopherols (18,04 mg/kg). + Developed the process of vegetable oils from the seeds of Passiflora edulis with a scale of 5kg dry material/batch and a hight yield 24,88% (g oil/g material). + Passiflora edulis seed oils do not irritation of the skin with dose 0,5ml after 72h. + Five compounds, trans-resveratrol (PE-1), trans-piceatannol (PE-2), sulfuretin (PE-3), (+)-balanophonin (PE-4) and cassigarol E (PE-5) were isolated from the seeds of Passiflora edulis. Among them, sulfuretin (PE-3) was isolated from Passiflora edulis as well as (+)-balanophonin (PE-4), and cassigarol E (PE-5) were isolated from Passiflora genus for the first time. + Four extracts and four compounds (PE-1 - 3, 5) from the seeds of Passiflora edulis were inhibited the soluble epoxide hydrolase enzyme (sEH). Trans-piceatannol (PE-2) and EtOAc fraction strongly inhibited the enzyme sEH. + Study on the acute toxicity showed that the piceatannol-containing product and seed oils does not cause acute toxicity. Applied results + Developed the process of vegetable oils from the seeds of Passiflora edulis with a scale of 5kg dry material/batch. Passiflora edulis seed oils do not cause acute toxicity and irritate the skin. Passiflora edulis seed oils have great prospects in the food and cosmetic industries. - Preparation containing Piceatannol active ingredient from the seeds of Passiflora edulis with a scale of 5kg dry material/batch have been established. Preparation containing Piceatannol active ingredient does not cause acute toxicity. - Preparation containing Piceatannol active ingredient from the seeds of Passiflora edulis is promising as raw materials for the production of products in the form of supplement foods and drugs to support for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. ![]() ![]() |
