| Goal and objectives of the project | - Monitoring the water quality, sediment quality and biodiversity in the coastal zone from Mong Cai (Quang Ninh province) to Cua Lo (Nghe An province) to assess the environmental quality in the northern of Vietnam. |
| Main results | - Theoretical results: Monitoring at six stations along the coast line of the north of Vietnam: Tra Co (Quang Ninh province), Cua Luc (Quang Ninh province), Do Son (Hai Phong city), Ba Lat estuary (Thai Binh province), Sam Son (Thanh Hoa province) and Cua Lo (Nghe An province). Monitoring has been done 2 times in March and August to assess the environmental quality of coastal area in the North of Vietnam. |
| Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | To improve the monitoring activities, contributed to environmental quality assessment in coastal area of Vietnam. Discover the environment incidents, such as harmful algae bloom, oil spill, temperature raising... and warning the pollution problems could be happen in coastal area in Vietnam, such as transboundary pollution by radioactive materials, toxic chemicals in aquaculture and fishing,... Assessment pollutants in food chain (clam shell) to warn the seafood security. |
