Goal and objectives of the project

Preparation of rubber nanocomposites with suitable mechanical-technical properties, high enviromental resistance in order to fabricate washers using in irrigation structure and hydro-power plant.

Main results

- Theoretical results: Investigation and preparation of 7 rubber nanocomposites types and set up the production technologies of washers for irrigation structure and hydro-power plant as follows:
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from natural rubber (NR)/nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) reinforced with nanoclays
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/cloroprene rubber (CR) reinforced with nanoclays
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/NBR reinforced with nanosilica
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/CR reinforced with nanosilica
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/NBR reinforced with carbon nano tube (CNT)
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/CR reinforced with CNT
• Rubber nanocomposites based on rubber blends from NR/NBR reinforced with nanosilica and carbon black.
- Applied results: Production 65 m washers using in hydro-power plant Thac Xang (Lang Son province according to the contract number 11/HDKT-2016 on 22 March, 2016 between Haiphong Rubber Company and the invest-commerce and construction company Long Duong).

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Investigation of the optimal preparation conditions for several rubber nanocomposites as follows:
• Rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber (NR)/NBR blend or NR/CR reinforced with nanoclays by melt mixing method using master batch from NR latex with nanoclay
• Rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber (NR)/NBR blend reinforced with CNT by melt mixing method using nanosilica modified with 5% silane Si69
• Rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber (NR)/NBR blend reinforced with nanoclays by melt mixing method using master batch from NBR with PVC modified CNT
• Rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber (NR)/CR blend reinforced with CNT by melt mixing method using master batch from NR latex with CNT by addition of surfactant CTAB in toluen solution
- Set up the production technologies of washers for irrigation structure, hydro-power plant from NR/NBR reinforced with nanosilica, carbon black

Research region

65m of washers for hydro-power plant Thac Xang, Lang SonThe obtained results were relative new in the field of rubber nanocomposites. The result reveal that the materials have good mechanical-technical properties suitable for production of washers in irrigation structure and hydro-power plant as well as for production of technical rubber products. The project leader please the VAST authority for further supporting of the research group in order to perfect the obtained results, the production of washers for irrigation structure, hydro-power plant. It could contribute to the social-economical development through a pilot projects.
