Goal and objectives of the project

- Complting and implementing of nanomaterials arsenic adsorption equiment in groundwater.
- 110 equipment have been manufactured and used for supplying safe water according to the Vietnam standard for drinking water (CAs: <0.01 mg/l) at the households of HaTinh province.
- Gathering the training about using, regeneration and maintainance of the equipment in Ha Tinh province.

Main results

Scientific meanings:
- Assess the impact of the flow rate to the arsenic adsorption capacity;
- Study the effect of interference ions to arsenic adsorption capacity;
- Research and preservation recovered arsenic removal after elution.
Applications:
- Improve equipment capacity of arsenic adsorption from 50 - 100L/ h;
- Produce and install of 110 arsenic adsorption devices in Can Loc and Thach Ha district;
- Organize technical training arsenic preserved after elution and organized technical training manufactured arsenic filter shell.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- This is an application deployment project, the project focus on solving the main problem about the effect of particle size on the adsorption of arsenic and improve arsenic adsorption equipment.
- The project find treatments and storage methods of arsenic after elution and gathering technical training.

Recommendations

In the framework of implementation of the subject, only 110 households equipment  were installed, while water pollution situation in Ha Tinh province is quite serious. The project have been sucessfullly synthesized materials appropriate for each specific locations, depending on the needs, we can use different materials to enhance the efficiency and capacity of arsenic adsorption. Besides, the project has registered patents and utility solutions, this is the basis of performance that the material can be deployed on a large scale. We strongly recommend the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology continues to invest funds for a pilot applications.
