- Theoretical results: + We have successfully fabricated CNTs in large quantities to serve the project, we also have successfully functionalize the CNTs with -OH groups. Results of funtionalization was investigated and proved by the Raman and FTIR spectrum. + We have successfully fabricated nano lubricants for engines of small marine, the T55 tanks, BTR-60 PB and ZIL 131. The measurement of the good dispersion of CNTs has been examined on the Zeta Sizer equipment. Viscosity, thermal conductivity and surface tension has also been studying. + We devoloped a model for the thermal conductivity of the fluid containing the CNTs and used this model to calculate thermal conductivity of nano lubricants. Calculation results showed high concordance between the theoretical calculations with experimental results of nano lubricants, the thermal conductivity of nano lubricants about 0.292 W/mK with 1.2 vol% concentrations of CNTs. + We have successfully fabricated nano lubricants radiator for engine of small marine, the T55 tanks, BTR-60 PB and ZIL 131. The measurement of the good dispersion of CNTs has been examined on the Zeta Sizer equipment. The properties of the lubricant such as viscosity, viscosity index, total alkali content, flash point, COC, the total metal content, surface tension, etc .. was measurement at the Institute of Petroleum. + We tested the nano lubricants on pedestal of small marine engine, the T55 tank, BTR-60 PB and ZIL 131 at the Institute of Military Engineering Mechanization. Test results showed that nano lubricants better than commercial oil, reduce the engine temperature down to about 4.2 - 4.6oC compared with commercial lubricant usual. Also lubricant nano radiator also reduces the coefficient of friction of the engine from 1.21 to 1.29 times, help save fuel from 10.39% - 15.79%. The survey found that longevity of nano lubricants were about 4 times higher in terms of commercial lubricant. - Applied results: + We tested the nano lubricants on the BTR-60 PB and ZIL 131 at the Institute of Military Engineering Mechanization. Survey results showed that the nano lubricants help save fuel from 10.19 - 15.31%. The survey measurement specifications of lubricants also showed that the durability and longevity of nano lubricants reach 20,000 kilometers compare to 5,000 km lifetime of commercial lubricant. + In addition, we tested the nano lubricants on the T55 Tank at Tran Quoc Tuan University. Initial results showed that after 10,000 km of running distance, the nano lubricant maintains good technical qualities as well as thermal performance, reduced friction, fuel tank to the engine. Currently the T55 tank continues during the test on the longer distance to continue the survey process reliability, longevity and quality of nano lubricant.
