Goal and objectives of the project
  • Improvement technology for production effective microbial (EM) inoculum Sagi Bio-1 that comes to the bedding materials for increasing decomposition effect, reduce the odour emission and specially rising the duration of the bedding life time.
  • Development a model for application of Sagi Bio-1 to serve odour treatment purpose from poultry facilities and to reduce environmental pollution.
  • Sagi Bio-1 will minimize the effect of the air pollution in the poultry farms (NH3 and H2S concentration will exceed the Standard criteria of QCVN 01/15/2010/ BNNPTNT on the poultry farming) and will inhibited about 90% density of some pathogenic microorganism (eg. Salmonella, E.coli) in the bedding material, together with the advanced ability to prevent diseases in chicken.
Main results

Theoretical results:

  • Isolated of some strains including 02 Bacillus subtilis, 01 Lactobacillus brevis, 01 Streptomyces hygroscopicus, 01 Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain to produce Sagi Bio-1.
  • Developed a technology for prduction effective microorganisms (Sagi Bio-1) with a capacity of 150L/batch and density of EM reaching ≥ 108CFU/ml.
  • Establised a proceduce for using of Sagi Bio-1 product in the poultry bedding material. According to the condition of Vietnam’s small poultry farmers, the a proceduce is available, easy to setup and convenient.
  • Deployed 02 proceduces that used the Sagi Bio-1 product to treat the bedding materials in hen and little chicken facilities. The results showed that Sagi Bio-1 reduced the odour emission in chicken buildings, NH3 and H2S concentration were lower than the permitted levels under the Standard criteria of QCVN01-15/2010/ BNNPTNT, the density of pathogenic microorganism such as E.coli, SalmonellaAspergillus always exist at a lower level comparing without Sagi Bio-1.
  • A proceduce for application of Sagi Bio-1 product is a simple, convenient process, saving 50% of the bedding material cost, trim the workforce to clarify and to care, reducing veteinary medicine and the rate of dead, especially enhancing income for farmers.

Applied results: the addresses for application of Sagi Bio-1 are at 10 poultry farms with different size in Tam Duong, Vinh Phuc province.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

The Sagi Bio-1 product effect not only decomposition of organic waste but also inhibition and removing pathogenic microorganism in waste of the poultry farms; minimize the spread of pathogenic microorganism in the environmental and afford the environmental protection and sustainable agriculture development in Vietnam.
