Goal and objectives of the project
  • (i) To provide an overview of theoretical foundations and practices of education and training development of human resources and their relations with sustainable development, specifically applied to the Central Highland region.
  • (ii) To analyze and assess situation of education and training in the Central Highland region until 2010.
  • (iii) To analyze and assess situation of education and training and human resource development policies in the Central Highland region.
  • (iv) To recommend, propose viewpoints, objectives and policies of education, training and human resources of the Central Highland region for the period 2011-2020 and vision towards 2030.
  • (v) To establish a data base of education, training and human resources and the development policies of the Central Highland region.
Main results

Theoretical results: Theoretical foundations and practices of education and training development of human resources and their relations with sustainable development, specifically applied to the Central Highland region are clarified. Requirements for ensuring sustainable development of the Central Highland region to address issues of the region’s education, training and human resource development are identified. The requirements function as bases to recommend viewpoints, directions and solutions for education, training and human resources development, serving formulation of the Central Highland region’s sustainable development strategy till 2020 and visions towards 2030.

Applied results: (i) Situation of the Central Highland region’s education, training issues for the period 1986-2010 is clarified. From the situation, the achievements, limitations are found, the lessons of success and failure are drawn, the strengths, advantages and the weaknesses, disadvantages of the region’s human resources are found. (ii) Strengths and weaknesses of the policies of the region’s education, training and human resource development are found and clarified: successful and unsuccessful lessons, difficulties in implementing the polices are generalized and drawn; orientations of supplementing and improving the policies which are more typical for the region to develop education, training and human resources in the coming years are recommended; (iii) viewpoints, objectives and policies of education, training and human resources of the Central Highland region, serving formulation of the Central Highland region’s sustainable development strategy, plan till 2020 and visions towards 2030; (iv) the data base of education, training and human resources and the development policies of the Central Highland region is established.
