- Assessing the status of hospital wastewater treatment system in Vietnam and proposing solutions of enhancing operation efficiency for installed treatment systems.
- Designing wastewater treatment models for 8 hospital scales: 50 beds, 100 beds, 150 beds, 200 beds, from 250 to 350 beds, from 400 to 500 beds, from 550 to 1000 beds, over 1000 beds.
- Establishing economical-technical norms for hospital wastewater treatment systems with 8 above scales in order to aid the health and environmental management organizations in developing these treatment projects.

• Theoretical results:
- This project investigated 30 hospitals in the whole country and developed a hospital data management software.
- This project implemented three hospital wastewater treatment experiments with 3 popular technologies in hospitals of Vietnam to assess their efficiency. According to these experimental results, the technology suitable for the actual conditions of hospitals in Vietnam was selected, that is trickling bio-filter technology with natural air convection.
- The project calculated, designed and established economical-technical norms for 8 different hospital scales.
• Applied results: The economical-technical norms for 8 different hospital scales which this project developed are applicable to help management organizations and hospitals have a basic for selecting suitable technology and providers.

The scientific results of this project contribute to open up a new direction in selecting and applying hospital wastewater treatment technologies suitable for Vietnamese conditions and with different hospital scales
