Goal and objectives of the project
  • Developing an intelligent control system for mobile robots
  • Serving training and in-depth research, constructing highly qualified resources, having ability to access to, taking ownership and developing the field of robotics
  • Building a science foundation and testing for developing the application of intelligent functions mobile robots to put into the actual field in the next stage
Main results

Theoretical results:

  • General research about mobile robot types all over the world, trends and application conditions in Vietnam. This project analyses advantages and disadvantages of mobile robots in the world to build a suitable robot in Vietnam
  • Studying of geometry, kinematics, dynamic characteristics, being able to controlof mobile robot is the background of designing and building all control algorithm. Analysing kinematics to serve for mobile robot capable of avoiding obstacles and orient itself. Developing the advanced control algorithms for dynamic based on analysis dynamic models of mobile robot
  • Analysis, design, build intelligent control systems and integrate for the mobile robot with the major components below:
    • Robot ES-SmartBot has 3 wheels, some infrared sensors, ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles, avoid collisions and Gyroscope sensor to determine the direction of the robot and wireless data transmission module Bluetooth, wifi, RF
    • The center controller of the ES-SmartBot robot is embedded computer motherboard PC104 of Advantech integrated some actuators control circuits, sensors measuring circuit, designed base on MSP430 microcontroller platform from Texas Instruments (TI)
    • Tuner is integrated Laptop (labtop) and mobile devices (smartphones) with software control ES-SmartBot on the Android platform through wireless communication standard Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / RF
    • Embedded software is on control center board PC104
    • Mobile Robot Control via Vietnamese Voice Software on Android mobile devices based on voice recognition technology Google Voice Search
    • Mobile Robot Drivers Software on your PC via the wireless network and the internet.
  • 01 Master Training with graduation thesis research in the direction of the theme: "Researching design and manufacture application circuit for sensor system of moble robot". 2014, Lê Chí Công, University of Engineering and Technology - Vietnam National University
  • Has published 05 scientific papers: 01 in the International Conference, 02 in National Conference, 02 in domestic scientific journals.

Applied results: The technology was developed in the project can be applied to the design of some mobile robots serve for socio-economic and national security, such as:

  • The self-propelled robot integrates IP camera, thermal imaging camera serving for monitoring the operating status of 110kV power station without people observe through the Internet. The potential applications unit: Vietnam Electricity (EVN)
  • The self-propelled gas environmental automatic monitoring robot is used in coal mines remotely via a wireless communications network. The potential applications unit: Industrial Group Coal - Minerals of Vietnam (Vinacomin)
  • The self-propelled terrorism prevention robot can monitor and control remotely through the wireless communication network. The potential applications unit: General Logistics-Engineering, Ministry of Public Security
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Sumary report presents the design and manufacture of a mobile robot control system model using some Bluetooth wireless connected technologies, gyroscope and voice recognition Google Voice Search on smartphone, robot controller via the wireless network on your computer allows creating mobile robot products serve in the field of entertainment, environmental monitoring, some families utility service… Hopefully this will be a designed and manufactured solution for some sample robots technology effective applications in practice of social life in Vietnam.
