Theoretical results:

• A procedure of designing a sustainable development set with 4 steps (selecting a concept model; building a list of sustainable development indicators; calculating real, threshold and standardized values of indicators; assessing sustainable development status and proposing solutions on development toward sustainable;
• The project calculated real, threshold and standardized values of sustainable development indicators at regional, provincial, district scale in Tay Nguyen; Assessing quatitatively sustainability in Tay Nguyen and 5 provinces; Proposing solutions to develop Tay Nguyen and 5 provinces toward suistainable;
• The software to assess and monitor sustainable development route in Tay Nguyen was built;
• The results are important references for carring out and applying the indicators on economic, social and environmental sectors at regional, provincial and district scale. They are also important for mangers, scientists related to making sustainable development strategies, and as lecture notes for universities and colleages;
• Young scientists were approached new study methods and enhanced their knowledge.

Applied results:

• The results could be useful for making sustainable development policies in Tay Nguyen and Tay Nguyen’s provinces;
• Supporting scientific bases for districts and provinces to make decisions timely and firmly to plan and regulate economic, social and environmental policies toward sutainable.

• It is the first time in which the project was built and carried out a relatively comprehensive procedure of designing a sustainable development indicator set from selecting a theorical model to construct a frame of sustainable development indicator set; Methods used objectively; tools and techniques to calculate indicators’ values; how to use the indicators’ values to assess sustainable development status; how to determine thresholds to define sustainable development problems to make sustainable strategy policies; calculating real, threshold and standardizing values for the indicators; assess quantitatively sustainability in Tay Nguyen, 5 provinces and propose solutions on development toward sustainble.
• The software to susport for assessing and monitoring sustainable development route in Tay Nguyen was firstly built and applied.

The project’s leader recommends that the Tay Nguyen 3 program supports the project to hand over the resutls for The Tay Nguyen steering committee broad and 5 provinces; and release a book mentioning the project’s main results; create good conditions to improve the project results in next phrase of the program; the government should add statistic criteria related to ethnic people and some indicators can not get based on the statistic books, the government should assign some institutions which can calculate them. The government should complete gradually regulations and tools to assess and monitor route toward sustainable development.
