Goal and objectives of the project

+ Creating procedures of production and application of microbial product and product’s Chitosan to reduce diseases on pepper plants, increasing pepper’s yield from 10% to 15%.
+ Developing and transferring technological procedures of bio-products for use on pepper plants in Quangtri province

Main results

- Theoretical results:
+ Created a production process of using microbial product for use on pepper plants using 2 bacterial strains: Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus Flexus; 1 fungi strain: Penicilium oxalicum; and 1 actinomycetes strain: Streptomyces diastatochromogenes
+ Created a production process of using bioproduct from Chitosan for use on pepper plants which is KTST - HT.01 including: organic: 1500 mg; C: 675 mg, O: 600 mg, N: 135 mg, H: 90 mg; Other ingredients: trace elements Na, Ca , Mn, Fe, P ...)
+ The project had successfully applied a model using combination of microbial products and Chitosan’s products to increase the yield of pepper plants in Quang Tri.
+ The products had shown significant reducing the rate of yellow leaf and root rot diseases on pepper trees in Quang Tri province. The combination of microbial products and Chitosan’s products are the almost efficient at all 3 tested places. Effective prevention of products for rate of disease reach from 22.49% to 72.45%. Effective prevention of products for disease index reach from 30.98% to 79.25%. Yield of pepper increase from 27.5% to 134%.
- Applied results:
The project enhances the close cooperation between science and practical production. Strengthening the combination of three factors: Farmers, scientists and businessmen. Project help to change farming practices of farmers, increase yield and quality of peppers in Quang Tri. It is not only raising the efficiency of economic project but also participated in environmental protection by the use of products to reduce the amount of chemical fertilizers, plant protective chemicals.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

+ Microbial products using rice bran as substrate, the microorganisms were isolated from local areas then multiply to produce products. So, the price is low and highly competitive.
+ KTST - HT.01 product both has stimulating growth and disease resistance effects on pepper plants.

Research region

This project is requested by the local province (Quang Tri). Therefore, the application of results will be directly transferred to this local area
