Goal and objectives of the project

- To designate type of hazardous phenomenon and their operational rules on the area of Truong Sa Islands.
- To forecast and propose solutions to prevent and minimize damages caused by hazards.

Main results

Theoretical results:
- Analyze and synthesize statistics of natural features related to type of hazardous phenomenon.
- Survey on situation of hazardous phenomenon.
- Remote sensing imagery analyzing to define situations and changes of hazardous phenomenon.
- Research on causes of hazardous phenomenon.
- Research on geological conditions and related hazards.
- Evaluate and forecast hazards.
- Propose solutions.
Applied results:
- New contributions of the project: Published the first general scene of natural hazardous phenomenon on Truong Sa Islands area including: hurricanes, upwelling caused by hurricanes, erosions, earthquakes and tsunamis, underwater pollution and geomagnetic storms.

- Designated types and operational rules of hazardous phenomenon on Truong Sa Islands area.
- Provide forecasted scenarios and preventative solutions to minimize damages caused by hazards based on integrated analyzing documents and data.

Products of the project

Technological products (describe in details: technical characteristics, place): collection of collected and analyzed documents on type of  natural hazardous phenomenon, included graphs, figures, maps and reports of hurricanes, upwelling caused by hurricanes, erosions, earthquakes and tsunamis, underwater pollution and geomagnetic storms; stored at Institute of Marine Geology and Geophysics, VAST.
