Goal and objectives of the project

In the long term, our goal is to develop H2S treatment systems in both small and medium scale, suitable in Vietnam conditions.
The objective of the project is to build technology of efficient removal of H2S from biogas, using our new material.

Main results

Theoretical results:
- Manufacturing process of Fe/MgO nanocomposite, which can be used effectively in liquid redox technology (wet process for H2S treatment).
- Manufacturing process of Fe/MgO/bentonite nanocomposite. The material shows a high ability in adsorption - oxidation process for H2S removal (dry H2S removal process).
- Experimental systems for the assessment of H2S treatment ability of these materials in both dry and wet processes.
Applied results:
- A pilot system for H2S removal was installed at a pig farm, using our Fe/MgO/bentonite nanocomposite. The field test results indicated that the system has worked well

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Our Fe/MgO/bentonite nanocomposite, possessing a high ability in adsorption-oxidation process for H2S removal, is a new material. Using this material, we have proposed a pilot system model, as a promising selection for H2S scrubbing from biogas.
