Project duration 01/01/2011 - 01/01/2012
Project’s budget 400.000.000 VND
Classify Fair
Goal and objectives of the project
  • To assess the accumulation of toxic pollutants (heavy metal as Hg, As and persistent organic pollution as PCBs) in some special organisms at the tidal flat in the Northeast of Vietnam and theo assess the correlation between the accumulation to environmental variables.
  • To propose preventable solutions for the toxic pollutants (Hg, As and PCBs) to protect effectively human health.
Main results
  • Theoretical results: There is the first sufficient database about the  accumulation of toxic pollutants (Hg, As và PCBs) in some special organisms at the tidal flat in the Northeast of Vietnam. The project’s result also update the BAF (BSAF) of the organisms (Lutraria rhynchaena, Sipunculus nudus LinnaeusAnadara granosa and Austriella corrugata).
  • Applied results: Determine safe consuming levels for different seafoods and propose suitable solutions to prevent the toxic accumulation into human body.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Publish detailed accumulable database of  toxic pollutants (Hg, As and PCBs), and BAF (BSAF) in some special organisms at tidal flat (Lutraria rhynchaena, Sipunculus nudus LinnaeusAnadara granosa and Austriella corrugata) in the Northeast of Vietnam.
