Project duration 01/01/2011 - 01/01/2012
Project’s budget 400.000.000 VND
Classify Fair
Goal and objectives of the project
  • Isolation and selection of highly hydrogen producing bacteria
  • Estimation their hydrogen production capacities in application to new energy
Main results
  • Theoretical results: isolation and selection of 04 highly hydrogen producing bacterial strains isolated from cattle feces in Vietnam
  • Applied results: set up and running well the procedure of dark fermentation for hydrogen production in anaerobic or microaerobic condition by bacteria at Bioflo 110 level (max. working volume 7L) with hydrogen production capacity 2-7L hydro/L, hydrogen quality 94-98% and hydrogen yield 1.5-8.5 mol hydro/mol hexose

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results
  • Isolate hydrogen producing bacteria from waste materials in Vietnam
  • Set up and run well the protocol for hydrogen production via dark fermentation in anaerobic or microaerobic condition at Bio-flow 110 level (max. working volume 7L) with highly hydrogen production capacity, quality and by native bacteria isolated from Vietnam
Products of the project
  • Scientific papers in referred journals (list): 02 abstracts at international workshop, 01 published paper, 02 submitted papers và 01 prepared paper
  • Technological products: protocol for hydrogen production via dark fermentation by bacteria at Bio-flow 110 scale
  • Other products: 02 bachelors and contribute to educate 01 PhD students
Research region

Institutions and factories for biohydrogen production

Recommendations

Propose to develop the project at second stage in which dark fermentation for hydrogen production from molasses and starch containing wastewater.
