Goal and objectives of the project

•    Set up technology – automatic mornitoring technic on changing of the moverment and properties groundwater.
•    Initial provide the waring notices about the relative geological hazards. 

Main results

•    Technological process – automatic mornitoring technic on changing of the moverment and properties groundwater. The automatic monitoring system is experimentally operated.
•    Based on the drilling results of geological engineering - geohydrology at the station to determine the Hanoi aquifer (qp) at -40m in depth, the static water-level is -23m in depth, the flutuational water-level is -29m in depth. The geological engineering section shows 2 soft layers at low and high plastic states containing organic, grey blue, grey dark in order to -7m and -18m in depth.  
•    The monitoring data analysis shows that:
+ The relation between the subsidence (S) with the pore pressure (Pz) is the inverse.
+ The relation between the subsidence (S) with pH is the covariance.
+ The relation between pH with  the pore pressure (Pz) is the covariance.
+ The relation between temperature with pH, and between the subsidence (S) with the pore pressure (Pz) are unclear, because, the period of monitoring have not enough time to determine the changing rule. Meanwhile, the relation between the electrical conductivity (EC) with pH, Pz, and temperature are relative covariance. However, the relation between EC with S is unclear.

-    Theoretical results:
•    Scientific report has high accuracy, which can be used to reference material for designing construction and building the automatic monitoring stations later.
•    The automatic monitoring system on changing of the movement and properties of groundwater ensures providing the accurate parameter, continuousness and could be representative of objects of study  
•    The system can be accessed to collect data and remote control by the wireless system.
-    Applied results:
•    The automatic monitoring system on changing of the movement and properties of groundwater includes hardware and software devices, which can be used to reference model, keep improving and apply for areas containing high risk of geological hazard at the residential compounds, the important industrial zone… to contribute to reducing disasters.       
•    The results of project could be opened a new approach in research of prevention and reduction of natural disasters.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

•    The technological process of the automatic monitoring, and the system of the automatic monitoring on changing of the movement and properties of groundwater have been set up in the first time in Vietnam.    
•    The direct monitoring system on the changing of the movement and properties of groundwater in research area is applied in the first time in Vietnam.
•    The system could be used for teaching in major, which relate to monitoring and warning disasters. The actual monitoring results will be contributed to education about the rule of changing movement groundwater.
•    Based on the results of project showing that the automatic monitoring system on changing of the movement and properties of groundwater at Institute of Geological Sciences operates efficiently. It could be widely applied to other important areas, as well as create an automatic monitoring net in whole country.

Recommendations

•    To supplement the automatic rain-gauge to supply input data for researching in next time
•    Need to supplement the rainfall regime relative to pore pressure at -5m and -15m in sub-ground, as well as correspond with swelling pressure at these layers, which solve the reality problems with the constructions at -20m and over in sub-ground
•    Providing more finance to improvement, maintain, and data processing for station operates continuously and efficiency.
•    Providing more finance for the security system and the preventive lightning devices.
