Goal and objectives of the project
  • Obtain a preparative procedure of catalytic materials based on nanosized Fe - Mn  binary oxide;
  • Obtain a preparative procedure of catalytic materials based on nanosized Fe - Mn binary oxide loaded on the carrier (2500kg);
  • Manufacturing of the device containing catalytic materials based on nanosized Fe - Mn binary oxide loaded on the carrier for adsorbing of iron, manganese and arsenic ions in drinking (60 devices);
  • Installing and putting in the operation of 60 devices in several areas of Hiep Hoa district, Luc Nam district - Bac Giang province;
  • To organize two training days for cadres, household to use the device;
  • Monitoring, periodic check of water quality treatment.
Main results
  • Theoretical results: A preparative procedure of catalytic materials based on nanosized Fe - Mn binary oxide for adsorbing of iron, manganese and arsenic ions was given
  • Applied results: 60 devices containing catalytic materials basedon  nanosized Fe - Mn  binary oxide loaded on the carrier for adsorbing of iron, manganese and arsenic ions in drinking were manufactured.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Using nanomaterials for adsorption iron, manganese and arsenic ions.

Research region

In certain areas of Hiep Hoa district, Luc Nam district - Bac Giang province.

Recommendations

On the basis of project’s implementation in 2010-2011 the research teams hope to receive furthur support from the leaders of the Institute in the near future to manufacture of the device at a large scale in order to expand the application to other regions in Bac Giang and other provinces.
