Goal and objectives of the project
  • Using remote sensing technology, GIS, GPS to assess the operation of landslides and landslip disasters and to present some environmental geological changes in province Son La when the Son La hydroelectric lake is accumulated and operated
  • Establising the scientific basis to propose solutions to overcome landslide and landslip disasters in the lake Son La and to lengthen the life of hydroelectronic engineering.
Main results
  • Theoretical results: The process of calculating the sensitivity, hazards and danger levels of landslide and landslip in study area was done by a system of logic and scientific review; scoring and weighting the factors would help to reduce subjectivity in the research process.
  • Applied results: To propose solutions to overcome landslide and landslip disasters in the lake Son La and to lengthen the life of hydroelectronic engineering.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

First built Zoning Map of landslides and Landslip disasters and Map of landslide and lanslip hazard based on GIS technology in a specific area of Son La hydroelectric engineering.

Products of the project
  • Scientific papers in referred journals (list): “Landslide and Landslip in the area of Son La hydroelectric engineering before and after operating hydroelectric power” (will be printed in the JOURNAL OF SCIENCES OF THE EARTH)
  • Technological products (describe in details: technical characteristics, place)
  1. Digital database on natural and socioeconomic conditions related to landslides process, calculated and stored on the GIS system
  2. Sensitive map of the landslide; Zoning Landslides and Landslip disasters in a specific area of Son La hydroelectric engineering
  3. The results of the research are stored in the Data Center Institute of Geology and Geophysics sea for Information and Documentation Center of Science and Technology Institute of Vietnam
