Goal and objectives of the project

Monitoring the marine environment two times (in March and September, 2010) at five coastal stations as Nhatrang, Phanthiet, Vungtau, Dinhan, Rachgia and one offshore station as Phuquy. The monitoring was at the time of  the high tide and low tide of one period tide. The factors were monitored at the sea surface and bottom layers and in sediment. They were Ta, Ha, Wind, atmospheric pressure, cloud, sea surface state, sea water transparent, sea water colour,  sea current, Tw, Sw, DO, pH, PO4, NH3, NO2, NO3, SiO3, ∑N, ∑P, BOD, COD, coliform, Chlorophyll-a, hydrocarbon, turbidity, heavy metals, pesticides, phytoplantonk, zooplantonk, benthos.

Main results
  • Theorerical results: To produce the accurate, synchronous, and continuous data of the environmental factors at the fixed stations. These data can serve in the purposes as study, teaching, and warning to the environment.
  • Applied results: the collected data were the parameters in annual national environmental state repor.

It is necessary to increase the number of monitoring stations annually following in the development of coastal industrial zones and export proccessing zones.
