Goal and objectives of the project
  • Application of remote sensing technology and GIS to geohazards research
  • Propose solutions to reduce the risk of landslides, flash floods through analysis using GIS technology causes
  • Propose procedures to track and monitor geological hazards along the Ho Chi Minh
Main results
  • Theoretical results: Tntegrated remote sensing, GIS and mathematical models to study the relationship between constituents and development landslides and flash floods in mountainous areas, especially on the roads.
  • Applied results: the models were applied to build up prediction maps on landslides and flash floods along the Ho Chi Minh (from Nghe An to Kon Tum) for supporting for planning, regulations plans limit the risk and effects of accidents along the study area.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results
  • Establishing relationships between the factors by their weighted in forming and developping of landslides and flash floods along the road
  • Establishing a process of assessment, flood hazard forecasting and landslides in remote sensing technology, GIS and mathematical models
  • Establishing a process of general observation, forecasting on flash flood and landslides along the Ho Chi Minh
