Goal and objectives of the project | - Design and simulate a wind turbine airfoil in low wind speed conditions. - Research and manufacture a wind turbine airfoil model under low wind speed conditions in Vietnam. |
Main results | - Theoretical results: The research topic develops some wind turbine airfoil models that work well in low wind speed regions. Changing some key parameters of the airfoil model such as maximum thickness, maximum thickness position, maximum camber and maximum camber position to increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the airfoil model. Simulation results using modern Ansys Fluent software have shown that the performance of the new blade models has higher aerodynamic efficiency than the original blade model. - Applied results: The scientific and technological results of the project have completed the simulation and experimental research of new airfoil models operating in low wind speed conditions when changing the main parameters of the blade model, thereby developing practical blade models for small capacity wind turbines. |
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | The project has designed and manufactured 05 airfoil models that operates in the corresponding low wind speed region in Vietnam. Simulation results using modern Ansys Fluent software give positive results compared to the original airfoil model in terms of the ability to increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the airfoil model. |
