Goal and objectives of the project
- To clarify the tectonic phases of the Red River Fault in Cenozoi.
- To clarify  tectogenesic role of the Red River fault in evolution of Red River Basin.
Main results

The project has clearyfied tectogenesic role of the Red River Fault System (RRFS) and other local faults, such as Ca River fault, Rao Nay River fault, Tha Khat-Da Nang fault in the process of the Red River basin’s evolution in Cenozoic era.
Aproaching Viet Nam the RRFS has been acting as follow: It became multi-branches and extended eastwardly, createing some other parallell faults such as Chay River faut, Lo River fault. The RRB was formed in between the last two fault, while the Red River fault became less active and almost unactive when reached coastline. The Chay and Lo River faults continued to the sea and played important role in RRB development, they may come to  triple junction in south of Hai Nam Island.
Evolution of the RRB was also controled by the local faults Ca River, Rao Nay River, Tha Khet-Da Nang faults. Just activities of these faults, together with the RRFS had created local depocenters in side the RRB, finally they helped to form one of the lagest basins in the  Asia and the World as well.
The fault network had participated in evolution of the RRB vie different tectonic phases and had changed its configuration significantly.
The tangible products of the project: Structural tectonic map of the RRB and adjacent area; 5 paleotectonic Skectmaps of the RRB of different periods; Model of the RRB Evolution in Cenozoic;  and some other sketchmaps of geomorpology, geological sections, geomorplogical sections and 2 papers.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- We have made sure that the RRF when came to Viet Nam became less active and  the Chay River, Lo River faults played proxy role of  the RRF. They participated actively in the RRB development and Lo River Fault comes up to the South Hainam triple junction, where it meets with the sub-longitudinal fault of East Viet Nam Fault Scarp.
- We linked the formation of the depocenters of the RRB with activities of left lateral strike slip of the local Car River, Rao Nay River and Tha Khet –Da Nan  faults.
-We have proposed New Tectonic model of the RRB evolution.

Recommendations

It will be good if we can continue the similar researh with Russan scientists. Finance of project must be increased. The topics of reseash should be meaningfull in both theoretical and practical application.
