Goal and objectives of the project | - Study on the growth inhibition of some Curcuma species on some tested cancer cell lines.
- Isolation and structural identification of compounds from a selected species.
- Investigation of the growth inhibitory effects of the compounds isolated on selected cancer cell lines. |
Main results | - 06 plant samples have been collected, including 05 Curcuma species and 01 Polyalthia suberosa. The cytotoxic activity of these plant extracts has been tested on 04 cancer cell lines including: liver cancer (HepG2), stomach cancer (HGC 27), lung cancer (A549), and breast cancer (MCF-7). |
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | - Isolate and determine the chemical structure of 12 compounds that are derivatives of curcumin, including 01 new one. |
